Cost = attendees x hourly rate x hours. If you enter an annual salary, the hourly rate is the salary divided by 2,080, which is 40 hours a week for 52 weeks.
The real cost is higher than pay alone. Employer costs add roughly a quarter to a third on top of salary, and people need time to get back into their work afterwards.
The point is not to cancel meetings but to make each one worth its cost. A weekly one hour meeting for eight people is more than 400 person-hours a year.
Three questions help: does everyone invited need to be there, could it be half as long, and could it be a written update.
